About
We built the app we kept needing.
Two horror fans. Different cities. Hundreds of films each, already seen. Every movie night started the same way. Thirty minutes of "what about…" "seen it." "is that even on anything we both have?"
By the time we picked something, we'd spent the part of the evening we'd actually looked forward to. And the picking was only half of it. Watching "together" over a phone call means someone counting down badly, someone pausing at the wrong moment, and nobody remembering any of it a month later.
So we made the thing that fixes it. You swipe on your couch, we swipe on ours, and neither of us sees the other's picks. That's not a preference, it's the point, and it's enforced in the database rather than promised in a settings screen. When we both want the same film, it seals. The app does the timezone maths, counts us down together, and keeps every scream plotted against the runtime.
It doesn't play the movie. It never will. It sits beside Netflix and Shudder and does the part they don't: getting two people in different places to the same second of the same film, and remembering it afterwards.
We've been living in it for weeks. Every fix in it came from a night that went wrong on our own phones first.
Why "Graveyard Shift"
The graveyard shift is the late hours the two of you keep together when distance says you shouldn't. It's a date night app wearing horror's clothes: intimate first, spooky second.
What we won't do
- Sell your data. There's no ad network here and never will be.
- Read your chat. It's yours and your partner's; nobody else's, including ours.
- Paywall the picking. If we ever charge, it's for the remembering.
- Add a feed. There are two people in a pact. That's the whole product.
Come in early
It opens for October. Get the invite and we'll email you once, when it's ready, and never again.
